Host the documentation site

The documentation site ships as a Docker image, so you can serve it next to your Apiome installation — on a private network, or under your own domain.

Run the image

The image serves the site on port 8080 as a non-root user:

docker run -d --name apiome-docs -p 3200:8080 registry.apiome.dev/apiome-docs:latest

Open http://localhost:3200/. GET /healthz answers ok, and the image declares a Docker health check that uses it.

Every change to the site on main publishes a new image to registry.apiome.dev (sign in with docker login registry.apiome.dev first). Images are tagged with the docs version, latest and the commit they were built from.

Build it yourself

Build from the root of the Apiome repository:

docker build -f apiome-docs/Dockerfile -t apiome-docs .

The build runs the same page rules and link checks as CI, so a broken link fails it.

Build argumentDefaultUse
DOCS_URLhttp://localhostThe public origin, used in canonical links and the sitemap
DOCS_BASE_URL/A sub-path to serve under; must start and end with /

To serve the site under a sub-path, build with that DOCS_BASE_URL and put the container behind a reverse proxy that strips the prefix.
